Mann Center for the Performing Arts

The homepage was redesigned to help users find performances easily and quickly convert to ticket purchasers.
A convenient "Plan Your Vist" tool allows users to quickly find information about attending a performance at the Mann.
Site visitors can browse upcoming events or pick specific dates to view performances in a popup.
The event object has a sophisticated set of relationships with artist profiles, related content, video, audio, and other assets.

The Mann Center for the Performing Arts and Tabula Studio approached Message Agency to use Drupal to redevelop their existing site, which was originally created in a proprietary content management system.  We love attending events at the Mann and jumped at the opportunity.

While the existing site had many good qualities, the framework was not flexible enough for future expansion.  The administrator did not have the desired level of control over the site's assets, and the design simply did not reflect the vibrant life of the venue and the experiences that concert-goers could expect.  Performances were also difficult to find, presenting barriers to ticket purchase.

We developed an approach that put events front-and-center on the site, allowing site visitors to find events in ways that suited their purposes:  either by encountering featured performances, finding a show on a specific date, or seeing a quick summary of the line up for the season—all without leaving the home page.

We also added tools for administrators to easily manage audio, video, and photos related to events and artists to provide richer content on the site, increasing the likelihood that visitors would remain on the Mann Center site to interact with media, rather than leaving to visit artists' external sites.  Adminstrators can also suggest related events that a site visitor might also want to attend.

Future plans inlcude an integrated electronic messaging solution using Message Agency's Vertical Response and Basic E-News modules, as well as improvements to the ticket buying experience.
